If you're gonna try and walk on water, make sure you wear your comfortable shoes.

Argh! How nice are these? Just one week into my "no spending, more saving" plan and temptation has hit in the form of these £32 Vatican Loafers. Typical. I've seen similar style ones in a couple of charity shops before (let's not lie, they are quite old ladyish), but they've never been quite right (plus I've always felt a bit funny about properly used second-hand shoes) so I've always managed to resist...

Help.

P.S. UK readers: the first series of Sherlock (3 eps) is being repeated on BBC1 over the next couple of weeks; first episode TONIGHT, 8.30pm. I INSIST you watch. #plug

Only TWO days left to enter my 500+ giveaway; enter here.

  1. Yeah, I never buy second hand shoes, especially not from charity shops because chances are you'll end up catching something :/
I do agree, these shoes are stunning. I adore the pastel red against the shiny black leather

  2. There's always a guarentee that temptation will come along the second you stop spending, I think I'll give up aimlessly browsing the internet next time I give up spending so I make sure temptation stays out my way! xx

  12. Shoes are the one thing from charity shops I'm funny about too! As well as underwear obviously...
I think it's because you can't really wash shoes. I do have one pair, but I think they were brand new, so it doesn't really count.
Urgh, shopping ban... trying to have one of those myself right now. Keep being caught out by leopard print lovely things.
I also need to replace my somewhat tatty old Office loafers, but I'm hoping maybe with my birthday money (in about a month) I could maybe afford some Russell and Bromley ones...

  14. these loafers are way too brilliant!
there's probably nothing more perfect than patent leather, coral, tassels and a little gold mixed together into one brilliant shoe.

  15. The Pope would be green with envy.
I don't have a problem with second hand shoes, there's nothing a wipe over the insides with a spot of bleach won't fix. x

Those shouse are so cute - I love the color and those little tassels <3
I love thrifting, but also feel funny about worn shoes. Can't stop thinking about all the infections and some other person's sweaty feet, eww.

BTW, I'm so happy you've found my blog. Because that helped me to find yours, and it's so nice - I've read every page of it and I'm loving your thriftinf finds (carpet bag!))). Following you, and really nice to meet you)
