Just so ya know...

My 500+ giveaway ends tonight, so get going if you want to be entered!

Also, Mozza tickets arrived today... I'm not sure, but going by the 'Ticket No Gas: 1', 'Ticket No Gas: 2' and 'Ticket No Gas 3', I think we may have got the first three tickets? Ha!

Not got a lot planned for today. At the moment I'm just listening to some Laura Marling and updating my CV (~soothing) - been thinking of getting onto temping, what with permanent jobs being so hard to come by and wanting a bit of flexibility for summer plans! Never done it before, though, so aside from hearing some horror stories I'm not entirely sure what to expect...

Anyone doing any temping at the moment? How are you finding it? Obviously it's a different experience for everyone, but share; I'm interested!

  2. Ah, whoo! Congrats on your arrived tickets. I always love it when concert tickets arrive in the mail, or just anything but bills or takeaway pizza menus that arrive in the mail. :')

  3. i've never done temping, but my friend is currently at a place where they offered her a permanent job (blimey, they must really like her!). and well done on the moz tickets. i felt proud of getting tickets 82-84 for arctic monkeys at don valley bowl, but i've been trumped ;) and thanks for the comment about my header. maybe i should just re-name it "disposable camera appreciation blog"? xxx

  4. Oooh super jealous about Mozza, I'm sure he'll be amazing. I temped when I was younger and found it kinda weird- like slotting into an office for a few weeks where everyone knows each other, then leaving.. but I was super shy back then which might also explain it. Hope you find something soon! xx

  7. Ive temped before, it can be anything from a day, a week or even months! sometimes with a permanent role at the end of it if they like you!

best way to go about it is to pop into your local reeds!

I temped a lot a few years ago, it was brilliant, every job lasted at least a month and I always got offered a permanent position. Have fun! x

  10. He's just so delightful!

I think with temping it's just pot luck, some jobs will be pleasant enough with nice people and some will be not so great. Let's hope you get one of the good ones! Either way money in the bank is always nice xx

  13. Yay for tickets! Hopefully with temping they'll offer you a permanent job at the end? Or if not, you at least get some money out of it.

  14. I did temping four years ago and loved it! You can pick and choose when and where you want to work - I said yes to a dishwashing job once and got paid well and the back of house people were alright, so it wasn't awful. But if you hate a job, you can just not go back if they request you again. I would recommend it for a summer, definately. Plus you meet some interesting people, and have a bit of fun!

Good luck with temping, I've not done it but hopefully it wont be too bad, and if it is at least you wont be stuck there for years!

  18. I'm temping! Started end of April and will finish by end of September - so about 5 months worth. I'm actually really enjoying it but I suppose it depends on the job - it varies from person to person. I've just been lucky I guess! I work in a nice area and there's some really lovely people in my office :) x x

  22. Ahh wish I was going to see Morrissey! I've only done temping in the education field (as a teaching assistant before I qualified as a teacher) so not really the same as other sectors. I enjoyed going to different places though and it's quite nice to have the flexibility!x

If you do so, please let me know how it really works? The only experience I have is watching Ryan from The Office.
