Yeah, I'm really getting into this Instagram lark, aren't I? Apologies. I swear I won't do it every post.
As you know (possibly, if you've been paying attention) I had tickets to see The Horrors play Brixton Academy on Friday night. I went with my (HORROR OF A) (har har har) sister and we had a really brilliant time! Well, apart from the bit where she got all dizzy and fainty, but thankfully she pulled THAT stunt towards the end, so we didn't miss too much.
She loves fainting at gigs. Honestly, it's like a tradition for us now; at least once a year we must sit with a paramedic whilst she gulps down water and the last song of the night plays in the distance. Last year it was a Koko Pop recording. Lee Ryan walked past and next thing we knew she had to sit down coz she was gonna
Anyway, the gig was brilliant and we had a lovely couple of days making the most of the sun around London. Sadly she left this evening on an over-packed, over-heated coach (the perfect recipe for a good faint!) back to Bournemouth though and I miss her already :(
Hope you've all had a lovely weekend!

Ahh The Horrors we magic weren't they? I had a little weep to Still Life, bless your sister x
ReplyDeleteThey really were! Didn't care much for their ridiculous right-in-your-eyes strobe lighting though x
DeleteBless your sister - hope she didn't feel too jaded afterwards! :-)
ReplyDeleteJem xXx
Nah, she soon perked up :) xxx
DeleteYour poor sister! Is it just the heat that makes her faint at gigs? It seems to be quite a tradition haha! I'm glad that you had a nice time though, and that she fainted conveniently near the end of the gig. On another note, those cupcakes look absolutely delicious. xx
ReplyDeleteIf I'm honest it has actually only happened those two times, and I think on both those occasions it was a combination of low blood sugar, dehydration and heat! x
DeleteYour poor sister! Hopefully she didn't faint on the bus back home? Regardless, sounds like you guys had a blast.
ReplyDeleteWell your sister timed her trip to London perfectly with the beautiful weather! Although I'm sure Bournemouth beach would be amazing.
ReplyDeleteI see you like taking pics of ducks too- glad I'm not the only one! If you have a peek at my last two posts, they feature rather heavily ;-)

Your poor sis :( It happened to me at a Decembrists gig last year, we missed half the show - I was gutted!
ReplyDeletePenny Dreadful Vintage
Ah what a shame! V jealous of you seeing The Horrors! (Buzzcocks were good but not super duper amazing...) I was right by the Arsenal stadium at the weekend too, we keep nearly bumping into each other.. xx
ReplyDeleteOh Emma, the Horrors! And yes, I know such a person too, it's a friend of mine and she faints during gigs too, but than just after the first couple of songs so we're just in time before the last one and than it's over. Hehe, but it's nice you had the weekend with your sister! I too appreciate some time with my sis every once in a while. You know... when she's not a pain in the ass :p
ReplyDeleteThe photos make your weekend look even greater. Those cupcakes look brilliant! :D
I know, I love Instagram, too. :) it's quite an addiction, isn't it? xxx

Being a known fainter myself, I know exactly how she feels! Luckily I've only ever fainted at one gig (everyone thought I'd OD'd -_-) so I haven't missed much!
ReplyDeleteThe Horrors would of been amazing to see, aside from the fainting drama :)
