Let's catch up.

Ok, I think we can safely say posting every three days is out the window.

L-R: ddb do take me out, wine and pizza!, happy father's day, product placement, two father's day presents, football down the pub

It may already be Tuesday but I hope everyone had a good weekend! I managed to spend mine in Bournemouth (definitely taking advantage of finally having my weekends free), so I got to spend Father's Day with my family. It was lovely.

I also turned down the BBC. YEAH! Two weeks into my job with DDB and they only go and offer me a work placement with their Drama Department, don't they! Sod's bloody law. Four weeks work experience would have been PERFECT sometime during those six months I was unemployed...

Still, despite all that I'm pretty content with how things are working out! I wont lie, the BBCs timing is pretty annoying but it's nice to know I'm wanted. Plus things are going spendidly at work and as great as the work experience would have been (and it would have been GREAT), four weeks of unpaid work doesn't really have much security in it...

Not in comparison to what I'm doing now, anyway!

Right, that's about it from me. I'm gonna wrap this up and go watch the second half of the football properly; I've got it playing in background of my laptop (good old TV catch-up) and I keep having to change tabs every time the crowd noise picks up...

C'MON, ENGLAND!

I broke the chain!

Aaawww, one week into my new job and neglect my blog. Only a little bit but I still feel I've failed. I try and post every three days but I obviously relaxed a little too much this weekend and as a consequence of my laziness I'M A DAY LATE! Do you know how horrible that feels? I was doing so well!

ANYWAY.

I'm really having fun at DDB! I'm only on my fourth day but I'm pretty sure I'm going to enjoy my time here. At the moment I'm mainly helping out with Volkswagen; so far this has involved helping with ideas for their social campaigns, keeping an eye on the competition, noting important days for posts, sourcing assets, filling in audit sheets and helping to main and moderate their Twitter and FB.

I've got a special spreadsheet set up for all the offensive, abusive, deceptive, defamatory, obscene, menacing, illegal, fraudulent, misleading, threatening, racist, sexist and discriminatory comments I've had to delete. Right now it just has the following:

assholes

They've also asked me to start writing a weekly newsletter for the social team, so I'm being kept pretty busy! It's fun though. Time flies. I've never had that in a job before. The newsletter is on all the exciting things happening in Social Media, naturally... I'm stuck on a decent name for it! Any ideas?

Hope you're all having a good week, keep on truckin' x

P.S. sorry for being so dull recently, I'll try harder once I'm properly settled!

Song of the Week: Matilda - Alt-J

Creepy video, but don't let that put you off because it's SUCH a good song.

THIS IS FOR MATILDAAA.

Anyway. Phew! TGIF*, am I right? Yeah, I can TOTALLY relate to that shit now I'm a proper working girl (easy) - I've had a really great couple of days with DDB (I'll try tell you more about that soon!) and now I'm ready to relax a little bit with my pals...

Hope you've had a good week, and have a lovely weekend while you're at it!

*THANK GOD IT'S FRIDAY

Happy Jubilee, Queenie!

Aw, lovely few days. Useless bloody weather but that was inevitable, wasn't it? It's a Bank Holiday!

Hope you've had a wonderful time, wherever you are. I've had a brilliant few days in Bournemouth. Spent most of it with family, pretty much just watching the celebrations and eating, and time has flown by. So sad to be leaving tonight; trips home never seem to last long enough! Plus I've not had NEARLY enough time to bond with Van Purrsie. Seriously tempted to take him with me...

Mustn't complain though - some poor sods have actually had to work this weekend. Also I should be able to visit home a lot more nowadays now have weekends off. Hur-bloody-rah! ;)

Anyway, better go, Liz is just about to wave from the balcony. Enjoy the rest of the day!

My first day at DDB! (plus a special guest)

Wow, what a DAY. And I'm pleased to say it went really well! I was a little nervy at first, but those feelings vanished as soon as I got into the swing of things.

Most of the day was spent meeting various people, getting shown around the company and surrounding areas (lunch at Zizzis - yum!) and signing forms; this was then followed by CAKE (!!!) and CHAMPAGNE (!!!) downstairs in celebration of the Jubilee (they'd done a Jubilee bake-off competition) and a few drinks down the local! (hope my good impression efforts weren't ruined by that part...)

Needless to say, I can't wait to get properly started!

Right now I'm in Bournemouth, enjoying the first of the four day weekend! Got in this afternoon after a very long and boring coach journey (with ma bebz Emily and Steve) and it's so nice to be home, especially since my family recently adopted a KITTEN!!!

Introducing... Mister Van Purrsie:

Aaaw! xxx

P.S. Apologies for the excessive amount of exclamation points in this post.
